Dressage clinic at Alice Springs

Linda has just conducted her second dressage clinic at Alice Springs. The first clinic was held in May and was so well received the Alice Springs Dressage Club booked a second. And now after the July clinic will again be giving the dressage enthusiasts of Central Australia another clinic in September.

Good luck to all the riders who will be competing in the upcoming Northern Territory Dressage Championships which are held over two rounds, one in Alice Springs and one in Darwin, in August.

Rivers Rarity attends Qld Young Rider Clinic 24/25 April

Rarity was ridden at a receive Qld Young Rider clinic by Linda's student, Courtney Whiteman, after Courtney's competition mare was injured in the week leading up to the clinic. Courtney only had a chance to ride Rarity on the Thursday prior to the clinic. As usual Rarity did the stud proud by behaving superbly for Courtney at the clinic despit the new rider and strange venue. This is the stud's oldest progeny from IHB Rio de Janero and she is every bit what RRWS was hoping for from the Rio de Janero/Northern Classic cross. See more information on Rarity on our For Sale page

Toowoomba Royal Show 2010

Linda represented Wilga Park Morgans at the Toowoomba Royal Show by successfully showing their horses in the Morgan Horse Breed classes taking out Supreme Purebred Morgan Exhibit with their fabulous buckskin stallion, Ranch Boss Cortez. Wilga Park also won champion purebred gelding with Roc the Boat and were first three placings in the Morgan under saddle class.

Later in the day Linda and Wilga Park were involved in the Morgan Horse Breed display at the Show. Linda choreographed, directed and performed in the performances given in the display by Wilga Park Horses including riding Ranch Boss Cortez for the stallion display, Mt Tawonga Oscar for the gelding display and coordinated and performed in a dressage Pas de Trois with riders/students Kirra Parks and Gail Smith.

Great Start to the 2010 Season

The horses bred and trained by River Range have had a great start to the competition season. Rivers Rarity has competed in her first 2 dressage events, one if February just 8 weeks under saddle and the second on 10 April. This mare is proving to be a delight to ride and compete as she is just so confident in everything she does and has absolute trust in her rider.

The LEGS Autumn Classic at Gatton 10 & 11 April saw Linda compete Parklands Virtuoso (aka Liberty) for his owner Fiona Hanson in his first elementary competitions for fabulous results and a consistent average of 63% over 3 tests.

Linda also competed Rebecca & Courtney Whitman's georgous warmblood mare Georgia Rain in the 5yo and Official Preliminary competition for excellent results considering Linda only got the chance to give the mare two rides in the week leading up to the event in preparation.

On a less positive note our fabulous young stallion Coupe de Grace is out with a hind quarter injury at present but is continually improving and we hope to get him back in competiton towards the later part of the year.
