All undersaddle and in hand training of young horses at RRWS is done by Linda Shore. All work is done to ensure minimum stress to the horses with the maximum effect achieved through quiet consistant training. Dressage training should enhance the horse's natural ability and looks rather than detract from it which sometimes happens when you have a  rider aids and position is inconsistent or conflicting. 

Linda encourages the horses to work over their back giving their all without any tension through the body and to work through the bridle rather than stopping at the bridle.   

This type of training can enhance the performance of horses in many diciplines and Linda now has students from diciplines such as campdrafting who have recognised the benefits in learning more about the basics of dressage training for both themselves and their horses. 

During 2001 and 2002 Linda was fortunate enough to be able to receive lessons with Kyra Kyrkland (pictured) and Harry Boldt to assist with the training of RR Copenhagen and the techniques learnt in these lessons have been further utilised in the training of all our other young horses. Linda continues to further her knowledge taking lessons with Uwe Spenlen.

2008. Linda spent a week training classical dressage in Portugal followed with 2 days observing Kyra Kyrkland training at her yard in England. This has further enforced the training principles which Linda prefers of having horses training calm, light, energetic and relaxed throughout their work

We offer a number of equestrian services to clients, including:

• General riding and horsemanship instruction, private and group lessons
• Dressage training from beginner to advanced level, private and group lessons (pic right is our safe, fully fenced, sand dressage arena)
• Elementary level schoolmaster available for lessons
• Professional training and preparation of horses and ponies for dressage competition and sale
• Horses prepared for sale and sold on behalf of their owners.
• In-hand education and breaking in of young horses and ponies
• Foaling down service for breeding mares

 

PRICING FOR 2010

• Private or 2 rider shared lesson 45 minute lesson at RRWS $50, own horse
• Private 1 hour lesson on RRWS school horse $60
• Long Term training and agistment of horse/pony at RRWS $280/week. Includes minimum 4 rides/week, 2 hard feeds and 3 hay feeds per day, individual yard. All rugs provided by owner.
• Short Term training and agistment of horse pony at RRWS $55/day. Includes training ride,2 hard feeds and 3 hay feeds per day, individual yard. All rugs provided by owner.
• Agistment for dry brood mares at RRWS $11/day. Includes shared paddock with other dry mares, 2 pellet feeds and 2 hay feeds per day.
• Agistment for wet brood mares at RRWS $15/day. Includes shared paddock with other wet brood mares, 2 pellet feeds and 2 hay feeds per day.
• Foaling down mares, $200 plus agistment fees as above.

With the system used to start horses at RRWS we can offer the unique opportunity to owners and students to assist with the breaking in process in a very safe and controlled manner. How much better will you know your new young horse if you are one of the first persons to ride it.

2009 Mundubbera Pony Club Ride to Music Artistic director Linda Shore guided 18 riders from Mundubbera Pony Club through their inaugrual Ride to Music at their 2009 Pony club Camp.

 

Linda Shore is a HYFEED, sponsored rider. All the performance horses at River Range are prepared for competition using Hyfeed's excellent products and we are very please with the results.
